Course description
Hi friend! Thank you so much for purchasing “The Art of Cardmaking”. It is my hope that you will be able to take with you a myriad of ideas for translating your art and mixed media pieces into cards.
This course will walk you through the three important “basics” in creating a card and then broaden that base through different materials and applications. From backgrounds to cut-out details, you will be able to create your own style and take your artistry to whole other level. Think dimensional, pop-ups and everything in between. Starting off with one sheet of embellished paper, we will make use of every square inch of the substrate. It’s a perfect way to use your leftover mixed media paper. The possibilities are endless. It’s really all about the art of maximizing the minimal surface. In other words, making the most of what you have!
Each segment (and there are nearly ten), will approach card making from a different angle, giving step-by step instructions for successful achievement.

Though Debi Adams is fairly new to mixed media and stenciling, and a teacher by degree, she has been professionally and personally engaged in the art and craft community for many years. Her skillset includes paper crafting, watercolor, floral arranging, set stylizing, photography, wall murals, home & party decor and sewing, as well as her new passion, mixed media. She has been featured in “Where Women Create”, “Where Women Cook”, “Cloth Paper Scissors”, “Somerset Studios” and “Apronology” magazines and a contributor to the book, “Upcycling with Sizzix”.
In her spare time, Debi loves being with her family & friends, junking, and traveling. Having left her corporate job, she is now pursuing her dream of self-employment through teaching, floral arranging, custom modern lettering/signage, diy party, event planning and home decor as well as art. She is excited to be on this new adventure and see where it takes her.
