I loved this couse. Seth is so easy going and give confidence to JUST DO IT. I loved the freedom to try new layers and if they don't work -- so what? I can add layers of the one I don't care for! It was fun!

Loved this course!!! Seth shares his techniques for layering and mixed media so any level of artist can adapt them. I appreciated that he offered video, a PDF with pictures and written instructions of the video, and a detailed supply list for every section. On a scale of 1-5, it's a 5+++.

Each and every layer Seth applied and spoke of kept me in a state of awe. His ending highlights, finishing touches and last marks gave totally unexpected life to the work UNFINISHED as the magic of Seth Apter. Watching it for the second time gave me a new awareness of his style and more appreciation for his technique. A genius instructor, leading with inspiration magic, thru ink, emboss, paint, stencils, and substrate of choice. A class for everyone!

So happy that I took this class! Very informative and will really help me to get out of my "stay in the lines" comfort zone. Layers, layers, layers and just keep going. Thank you, Seth, for sharing so much info to help us all keep growing.

This is undoubtedly one of the best online courses I have ever taken. Besides being reasonably priced (a bargain actually!), Seth covers his different layering techniques so thoroughly. The videos are easily seen and very thorough examples of his process while giving his philosophy behind his methods. The PDFs are succinct and perfect reminders. So professionally presented; my compliments to Stencil Girl for producing this online course!

I like being able to peak in on the creative process as we follow the creation of one project start to finish, and still get all the details and “how to” explanations of each step. The course is very well thought out and inspiring. I would love to see additional courses from Seth!

Everything done by Stencil Girl is always a notch above the usual. This class is no different. It's broken up into easily digestible bits and is quite easily followed. Seth is an artist that I have long admired, and watching this class was SO empowering, he has such a gentle, patient manner as he teaches. He fills me with confidence that I can create art that I like. My project didn't turn out looking like the project he had because I didn't have all the same things that he had. I still felt confident that I could do what I was imagining, and I did! I am looking forward to more hours of play with my paint and stencils as I explore color layering and stencils. I will come back to these videos again and again over time as I stretch myself to learn new things.

The demonstrations were very clear, detailed and easy to follow. Seth continually let us know that it is ok to cover, paint over, take out, etc. Hard to do when you are not used to this, but oh, my - the results for this artist were exciting and freeing.

I loved this class and gained loads of "Seth info" from it. Everything was explained very clearly and all techniques were demonstrated in the best possible fashion. I only have praise for the course, and for the warmth and charm of Seth. Thank you very much for such an enjoyable experience.

I always get so much from watching an artist in their process. I have taken several classes from Seth in the past and many of the techniques he demonstrates in this course are not completely new to me. What is the big take away, for me, is listening to his thought process while watching him create. Listening to an artist in the midst of creation is enlightening. How they think about creating, how they approach creating, what seems to them to be working and what they feel the need to "fix" is all helpful to me in my work. I sometimes think that 90% of my work is "fixing" what I just did! Watching and listening to Seth while he goes through the process, how he thinks about what he's creating and, maybe, most especially, how he tries not to think about what he's doing was so instructive. I got full value from Seth in this video course. Thanks for sharing your techniques and process with me, Seth.

I followed the sequence of techniques through all the layers of this course. The scaffolding of skills was very helpful to me, and I loved watching Seth work and listening to his narration. While an in-person workshop is a terrific experience, THIS course is invaluable in seeing everything up close and taking time to work through each layer. The accompanying PDF files were helpful to me as I was able to carry them to my studio and refer to them as I worked on my own pieces. I highly recommend this class!

Just finished the Mixed Media Layers Course and learned about the magic that goes into layering backgrounds and subjects in mixed media. Seth is a great communicator that knows how to convey the ins and outs and hows and whys of a point very well. I enjoyed spending the time learning an will apply many of these techniques to upcoming projects.
